The Shock of the New West

The Tubac Center of Art presents The Shock of the New West.  featuring art that combines current elements in contemporary art with western themes. Artists were encouraged to imagine traditional western themes in creative ways and to enter work which is innovative in concept and approach. Juried by Cody DeLong, whose work will be represented in the Master Gallery simultaneously with this show.

Join us for the opening reception, Friday, January 10, 2020, 5-7pm. Meet the artists and enjoy the first view of this national juried exhibit.

Sixty-two works of art representing artists from sixteen different states were selected from over 200 images submitted. The exhibit will present a new look at the western theme.

Youth

Youth is a juried exhibition of artists in Arizona between 18-28 years-old and will include work in 2-D and 3-D art in any category. This exhibition will be juried by artist Brianna Miller and curator Michael Fenlason.

19 Opening Reception

Please join us on Friday, September 8th, 5-7pm for the opening reception of “19.” The 19 exhibition features artists along the I-19 arts corridor from Nogales to South Tucson including the Pascua Yaqui Xavier and Tohono Oo’dham nations, City of South Tucson, Sahuarita, Green Valley, Amado, Tubac, Tumacacori-Carmen, Rio Rico, and Nogales.

Members’ Open Exhibit Reception

The annual Members’ Open Exhibit presents the work of Tubac Center of the Arts member artists and offers a variety of styles and mediums. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, July 28th and meet the artists. Awards will be selected and presented during the opening reception by exhibit judge, Brooke Grucella. Brooke is a Professor of Practice in the school of Art at the University of Arizona. Her visual research considers how collective consumer culture and its by-products become signifiers for memories. She employs elements of street art, comics, and animation to explore topics such as sexuality and relational communication. She has exhibited in Los Angeles, California; Miami, Florida; Washington DC and Pulse Art Fair, New York.

Best of Show winners will also receive a solo exhibit at the Art Center.

2017 Members Open Exhibit

The annual Members’ Open Exhibit showcases the work of our member artists. Over fifty artists are represented.

The Members’ Open is an annual exhibit featuring the work of Artist Members of Tubac Center of the Arts.  The exhibit is open to all media and often features paintings, sculpture, photography and jewelry.  Please join us on Friday, September 4th from 5-7pm for a free reception where awards will be announced and you can meet the artists.

Summer Gallery Opening Reception

Summer Gallery opens with a reception on Friday, August 1, 5-7pm.  This event is free and open to the public.  The Summer Gallery Exhibit is an annual art exhibit showcasing the art of Southern Arizona artists in all mediums.  Summer Gallery 2014 is the final exhibit of our season and this year includes twenty three artists working in oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, mixed media sculpture and fine jewelry.

Please join us on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 5-7pm for the opening reception of our annual Members’ Juried Exhibit.  The exhibit showcases a variety of medium and style in the 62 art works by artist members of Tubac Center of the Arts.  This year our juror is local Tubac artist, Nicholas Wilson, internationally recognized for his wildlife sculpture, paintings and printmaking.
