Barbara’s works are very expressive with color and texture.  Her subjects are most often landscapes but she loves painting the charm of the old Tucson barrios and an occasional still life. “I want to capture light and express my feeling about the subject. I want the viewer to feel as if they are there with me during the experience.”  Barbara teaches classes and workshops in acrylic and oil mediums. She enjoys participating in Plein Air competitions and art shows regionally and nationally.

Paint the light and colors of the Sonoran Desert. Watch the desert start to come to life as the Winter rains yield to Spring sunlight and wild flowers. Emphasis on light and shadow on forms will be emphasized with the colors that make them pop. Using a fairly limited palette, students will mix the colors that make desert magic. Use bigger brushes and palette knives for a luscious surface and bring your paintings new energy. Students are challenged to try my approach and love to paint!
