Arts Speak: A Conversation with Monica Warhol

Join us for a conversation & live podcast recording with artist, Monica Warhol.  Monica will discuss art, Andy & more in this electric & eclectic hour discussion.

“Professional artist Monica Warhol is fiercely loyal, agreeably stimulating and attractive. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Warhol moved to Tucson 13 years ago. Although she is distantly related to the famous artist Andy Warhol, (his father and her grandfather were brothers), she downplays that connection, preferring to become successful on her own merit. She emphasizes, “It’s not about my name; it’s about a lot more than that.”” (Agrillo, 2015)

Oaxaca Art Tour

The exciting city of Oaxaca has become a wonderful mixture of ancient archaeology and fascinating colonial history with modern day popular and folk art in an atmosphere that is safe and easy to enjoy.

You will delight in walking from our cozy bed and breakfast to the downtown Zocalo area where you will enjoy music playing in the park, vendors selling balloons and colorful handicraft items, and large shade trees.  With appealing cultural and culinary scenes and a beautiful colonial core or lovely, tree-shaded streets, Oazaxa is one of Mexico’s most captivating cities.  Arists and artisans alike are inspired by the area’s creative atmosphere, indigenous and bright, clear light.  Oaxaca has top-class museums, charming inns, fascinating markets and its own buble version of Mexican cuisine.

Learn about the Spanish colonial history of Oaxaca as we visit the beautiful Cathedrals of the city and ancient churches in the smaller towns – some of which are still in use today.   We have arranged visits to some of the finer galleries in Oaxaca,  and opportunities to meet some of the up and coming artists.

Visit the villages surrounding Oaxaca where the people of the area exhibit their artistic creativity through ceramics, woodcarvings, weavings, and embroidery.  View artists at work as they demonstrate for you in their own homes.
