Poetry of the Wild – Tubac Takes Flight

[image url=”” alignment=”left” margin_left=”0″ margin_right=”30″ margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”30″ width=”225″ height=”300″]

The Tubac community is working together to celebrate birding during the months of March and April 2015 with special “birding” related events.  Participating organizations include Tubac Center of the Arts, The Anza Trail Coalition, Tubac Presidio State Park, Tumacacori Mission, Tubac Golf Resort & Spa and many local galleries & businesses.

Tubac Center of the Arts and Anza Trail Coalition of Arizona are partnering on “Poetry of the Wild”, a public art project with Rhode Island artist, Ana Flores.  Individuals and groups are invited to participate by creating bird themed “Poetry Boxes” for a temporary public art installation along the Anza Trail from Tubac to the Tumacacori Mission.

Poetry of the Wild” invites the public out for a walk to see their world anew through the keenly felt perspectives of poets and artists. Using a unique presentation of “poetry boxes” that combine art and poetry, the project serves as a catalyst for exploring our towns and considering how place informs mindfulness. The public becomes engaged by finding the boxes which are sited as a network on mapped trails, reading the poems, and responding in the public journals contained in each. – Ana Flores.

Learn more about the project at an information session with Ana Flores.

If you are interested in receiving more information or would like to schedule a presentation for your group with Ana January 8th to 13th, please contact TCA Board Member, Nancy Peyton at 520-398-9892 or 952-201-4995 cell.

Week of January 8, 2015: Information Sessions with Ana Flores
